Crime Stoppers of Tangipahoa, Inc. is proud to announce its’ 2nd Annual Awards Luncheon, Friday, June 18th, at Chesterton Square in Ponchatoula, LA from 11:00 A.M. until 12 Noon. We encourage the community to join us as we honor those who have supported the mission and vision of our organization in the last 12 months. This year’s event will feature United States Attorney Jim Letten as the Keynote Speaker (Bio & Photo attached). Crime Stoppers will be recognizing community members and local businesses with the following awards; the Corporate Partner Award, the Criminal Justice Award, the Community Service Award, the Media Award the Media Campaign Award, and many Law Enforcement awards. Crime Stoppers will also recognized volunteers for their service and award certificates of appreciation to various members of the community that have supported their organization.

“Many people do not realize that Crime Stoppers of Tangipahoa, Inc. is a 501(c) 3 Non-profit Organization and that Crime Stoppers depends on the public, individuals, local businesses, and corporations for financial support. Donations to Crime Stoppers of Tangipahoa, Inc. are tax deductible. This event is our main fundraising event for the year and support of this event will help to grow and build our programs that we offer to the public and continue to support law enforcement in removing criminals from the streets of Tangipahoa Parish.”, states Jodie Powell , CEO/Executive Director.

New to the event this year is a silent auction raffle. There are many great items that have been donated to bid on. Auction raffle tickets will be on sale the day of the event for $ 1.00 each. In 2009 Crime Stoppers of Tangipahoa received 604 tips, assisted in 253 arrests, cleared 234 cases, assisted in the recovery of over $ 73,000 in stolen property, and the seizure of over $ 33,000 in narcotics. In 2009 Crime Stoppers of Tangipahoa paid out over $ 42,000 in cash rewards to anonymous callers.
